The firm's strong design ability is recognized through many successful entries in design competitions.

The manager and chief architect of WOSSEN architects has been engaged in the profession as a freelancer since 1987 parallel to his assignment as a lecturer at the Addis Ababa University, department of Architecture and Urban planning and established the company in 1998.

The office has currently eighteen permanent staff and engages a large number of short-term experts.
